Easy win for Decorah boys

It was a good night on the hardwood for the Decorah boys’ basketball team as the Vikings (9-1, 5-0 NEIC) defeated the MFL MarMac Bulldogs (9-2, 7-0 UIC). It was no contest with Decorah winning 85-50.

It was a good night on the hardwood for the Decorah boys’ basketball team as the Vikings (9-1, 5-0 NEIC) defeated the MFL MarMac Bulldogs (9-2, 7-0 UIC). It was no contest with Decorah winning 85-50.
Decorah’s defense held the Bulldogs to 11 points in the first quarter, giving the Vikes a 26-11 lead. At halftime, Decorah led 56-16. MFL MarMac worked to erase the deficit in the third period; however, Decorah continued to lead to 71-42 with eight minutes to play.
Carson Wemark was on fire, scoring 20 points to lead the team to go with 10 rebounds and three steals. Joe Bockman put up 19 points and nabbed four rebounds, while Ben Bockman knocked down 18 points and had five boards. Two other Vikes were in double figures with 10 points apiece including Jacob Pipho and Trey McCain. 
Decorah is at Charles City Friday, Jan. 14, at 8 p.m., while they welcome Center Point-Urbana Saturday, Jan. 15, at 3 p.m.
