Walter S. Pilgram, 89, of Butterfield Trail Village, Fayetteville, Ark., died Thursday, March 2, 2017.
Walter was born Aug. 20, 1927, in Muscatine, to Ida C. Pilgram and Walter Pilgram. He married Margaret C. Molis in August, 1948. Walter graduated from ISU at Ames, in 1950.
Walter taught agriculture, was a farm management consultant and a businessman. He enjoyed golf, fishing, bridge and being a summer staff volunteer at Estes Park Center YMCA. Walt taught agriculture at Clarinda, Guttenberg and Calmar, and in 1957 became farm business consultant with the Northeast Iowa Farm Business Association until 1970. Walt and Margie purchased Pilgram Chevrolet and in 1977 embarked on a year and a half travel trailer sojourn around Canada and the United States. After moving to Rogers, Ark. In 1978, Walt and Margie purchased Bentonville Glass in 1979 and were involved with it until retirement. Spending summers in Estes Park and Elderhosteling. Walt and Margie moved to Butterfield Trail Village of Fayettville, Ark. In 1997. Walter and Margaret created several college scholarship trusts at ISU in Ames. Walter attended Good Shepherd Luthern. Nelson-Berna of Fayetteville. Memorial service in Muscatine at a later date at Ralph J. Wittch, Riley, Freers, Muscatine.
Daughters Marcy L. and husband Joe Skretta and Wendy K. and husband Joe Rausch and grandsons Jason Skretta, Brent Rauch (Bridget) and James Skretta survive.
