Theodore “Ted” McNally, 72, of Monona, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at his home. Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 23, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, and one hour before services at the church Monday. Funeral services with military rites were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Living Faith United Methodist Parish, Monona, with Rev. Deb Parkison as the officiant. Inurnment was at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, helped the family with the arrangements.
Theodore was born June 17, 1946, to Leo and Violet (Heins) McNally in Postville. He graduated from Postville High School in 1964 and attended NICC in Calmar for one year. Ted proudly served in the United States Navy for seven years and eight months in California, Kansas, at USS Rigel AF-58 in Norfolk, Va. and Fleet Operational Center Pacific, Oahu, Hawaii.
Ted was united in marriage with Cheryl White Nov. 12, 1966. Two children where born to this union. Cheryl passed away in 2004. Ted farmed for 38 years by Postville and Monona. Ted was united in marriage with Jean Bina Dec. 8, 2007.
Ted is survived by his wife, Jean Bina McNally of Monona; father, Leo McNally of Monona; children, Doug (Peggy) McNally of Monona and Christine (Jason) McNally Woods of Decorah; stepchildren: Chris (Joan) Bina of Cresco, Chad (Jeanna) Bina of Forest City and Kayla (Jim) Dontje of Forest City; four grandchildren: Joshua (Jenny) Woods, Cale Woods (Jayden Schwickerath), Danielle McNally and Samantha (Logan) Glawe; seven step-grandchildren: Mady Espeland, Kenna Espeland, Kiara Bina, Alaina Bina, Atley Bina, Cooper Dontje and Joslyn Dontje; four great-grandchildren: Presley Woods, Beau Woods, Rayn Woods and Skylar Woods; his siblings, Norma Ball, Thomas McNally and Leo “Randy” McNally; sister-in-law, Bev McNally; special furry friends, Heide, Rosie and Honey; and many nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his first wife, Cheryl; mother, Violet; and his oldest brother, Roland McNally.
