Susan (Sande) Borsheim was born on Oct. 9, 1945, in Cresco, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna Marie (McConnell) Sande. She attended parochial school and graduated from St. Francis de Sales high school in 1963. Susan married Ronald Borsheim on October 19, 1963, at First Lutheran church in Decorah. Together they had two daughters: Tracy and Julie. Shortly after being married, they moved to Cedar Rapids. They would return to Decorah in 1966 where they have resided since. This is when they started farming, and when I say “they”, I mean both Ron and Susan. Along with farming, together they ran an insurance agency for many years.
Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, decorating her house for every holiday and season, keeping her 3 – acre lawn in perfect condition, playing with her three cats, and camping. She was able to travel to Yellowstone, Arizona, and Florida. She was a devoted wife and partner, a caring and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Susan is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronald Borsheim; daughters: Tracy (Matthew Marske) Jessogne and Julie (Paul) Wilhelmson; grandchildren: Devin Jessogne, Rachel Jessogne, Tyler Wilhelmson, and Logan Wilhelmson; great-granddaughter, Eleanor Jessogne; special friends: Karen Brown and Dawn Groth; and many other close family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Anna Marie (McConnell) Sande and by her brother, Steve Sand
