Marian F. Linderbaum, 90, of Castalia, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian. Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ossian Lutheran Church in Ossian. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at the Ossian Lutheran Church in Ossian, with the Rev. Dave Lenth as the officiant. Inurnment is at a later date.

Marian was born Feb. 28, 1927, rural Postville, to William and Alice (White) Christofferson. She graduated from Postville High School and also completed Normal training during high school for her teaching certification. Following graduation, Marian taught school in the rural Postville area.
Marian was united in marriage to Charles Linderbaum and two daughters, Sharon and Alice, were born to this union. Marian worked alongside Charles on their century farm, which they were very proud of. She enjoyed crocheting and attending the Nordic Fest Craft Show for over 20 years. Many of the items she made are still being used by numerous people all over the country.
Marian also enjoyed making hand-sewn quilts and made sure all of her family members received one from her as a gift. Her greatest joy was her family and visits from the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlights of her life. Marian will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon (Al) Wagner, Fayette and Alice (Jim) Palmer, Castalia; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; her siblings, Ruth Walz, Walter Christofferson, Mryna Gordon and Mark Christofferson; sisters-in-law, Marie Linderbaum and Marilyn Christofferson; brother-in-law, Lawrence Linderbaum; and many nieces and nephews.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alice Christofferson; her husband, Charles Linderbaum; her brothers, Roger and Leo Christofferson and grandson, Christopher Lewis.
