Margaret (McNeil) Ronan

Margaret (McNeil) Ronan, 105, of Edina, Minn., died March 10, 2015, at her home. Marg was born Dec. 9, 1909, in Eldora, to Fred and Agnes (Moore) McNeil, one of six children. Her family moved to Mason City, where Marg spent her formative years. In 1929 she moved to Decorah, and was a resident there for 65 years. Her family owned McNeil’s Coat and Suit Store. Marg worked for McNeil’s and managed Seifert’s for 18 years. In September of 1931 Marg was united in marriage to Leo Patrick Ronan and they had three children. 

She is survived by children: Mary Pat, Michael and Terry and their families. 

Marg was preceded in death by husband, Leo. 

A private family interment is at St. Benedict’s Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce, 507 W. Water St., Decorah, IA 52101. Cremation Society of Minnesota handled the arrangements. Condolences may be emailed to michaelpronan@gmail.com.
