Lucas “Luke” Haller, 24, of Waterloo, formerly of Decorah, died Saturday, May 30, 2015. A private graveside service will be held at Phelps Cemetery in Decorah.
Lucas E. Haller was born Jan. 14, 1991, in Mason City. Luke grew up in Decorah. He attended North Winneshiek and Decorah schools and graduated from Decorah High School in 2009.
In high school, Luke participated in cross-country and tennis, and played euphonium in band.
Recently, Luke was excelling as a sales associate at Best Buy in Waterloo. In his free time he immersed himself in technology projects, fished the local streams and lakes, and enthusiastically followed the Chicago Cubs and Bulls.
Luke is survived by his parents Dennis and Janet Haller of Decorah; his sister Kate Haller and her fiancé Jon Ailabouni of Decorah, his grandmother Dorothy Bass of Charles City; three aunts: Marcia (Mark) Kogle (Puyallup, Wash.), Linda Lovik (Iowa City), and Sandy Haller (Loveland, Colo.).
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Arnold and Arlene Haller of Charles City, Darrell Bass of Rockford; and two uncles, Jerry Haller (Loveland, Colo.) and Stephen Lovik (Iowa City).
