Linda K. Bakken, 75, of Decorah, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse, Wis. Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, at First Lutheran Church in Decorah, with Rev. Chad Huebner officiating. Inurnment will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah in the spring. Visitation began Monday at 10 a.m., one hour before the service, at First Lutheran Church.

Linda Kay Bakken was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Davenport, the daughter of Norman and Ethleen (Schweinefus) Lar-son.

Linda was united in marriage to Merlin A. Bakken Feb. 28, 1965. This union was blessed with two daughters, Laura and Muriel. Linda and Merlin later divorced.

Linda worked at K&S grocery store and later worked at Deco Products for 40 years, retiring May 5, 2011. Linda enjoyed playing cards, baking, putting puzzles together, taking trips, visiting her great-granddaughter and her friends. Linda also enjoyed having the last word. Linda took many trips, but her favorite was the weekend she spent with her grandson and great-granddaughter. She did volunteer work for Decorah Community Schools and at the V.F.W.

Linda is survived by her two daughters, Laura Grim of Monument, Colo. and Muriel Bakken of Decorah; one grand-son, Robert Bakken of Castle Rock, Colo.; one great-granddaughter, Amelia Bakken; and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, David and Norman; and one sister Sharon in infancy.
