Justin Limkemann

Justin G. Limkemann, 39, of Frederika, died Saturday, May 18, 2024, as a result of a tragic accident.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the American Legion Hall in Sumner. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.

Justin Gerald, son of Dane and Chris (Pitz) Limkemann was born, March 2, 1985, in Waterloo. Justin received his education in the Tripoli Schools, attended Tripoli High School, and later received his G.E.D.

He began working as a welder at Lifeline Ambulance Service in Sumner, prior to working as a diesel mechanic at Thompson’s Trucking and Olsen’s Explosives, and most recently worked at Weis GMC in Decorah as an auto mechanic.

On May 31, 2008, he was united in marriage with Ashley Gerleman. The couple welcomed three children, Taitym, Teghyn, and Kyla. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and was always playing pranks on family and friends. Justin enjoyed being in nature, whether it be fishing, rock hunting, being on the water, or camping, but his greatest love were his children.

Justin is survived by his children; Taitym, Teghyn, and Kyla all of Sumner; special friend, Ashley Gerleman of Sumner; mother, Chris (Jim) Haynes of Frederika; father, Dane Limkemann of Newell; sisters, Sarah (Joseph) Klages and Stephanie (Ben) Schiel, both of Frederika; maternal grandmother, Joyce Pitz of Frederika; aunts, Jane (Darrel) Anderson of Waverly and Janna (Eric Grell) Limkemann of Plainfield; uncle, Rich (Alison) Pitz of Frederika; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, David and Marian Limkemann; and maternal grandfather, Gerald Pitz.
