Julie A. Herman, 54, of rural Lansing, died peacefully Sunday, June 18, 2023, at her home.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church with Pastor Ken Kimball officiating and inurnment will be in the church cemetery, both in rural Waterville, IA. Friends may greet the family from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church on Friday. Martin – Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling the arrangements.

Julie Ann Herman was born April 10, 1969, in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Charles Alfred and Helen Evelyn (Cole) Christianson. She was baptized and confirmed at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waterville, graduated from Waukon High School in 1987, and received her semi driving certificate from Minnesota State College in 2000. On Feb. 4, 2010, she married Dennis Herman in a private ceremony at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church. Julie and Dennis were over the road truck drivers, owning their own semi. She was a member of Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church and the Allamakee UTV Club. Julie enjoyed gardening, boating, camping, and going on UTV rides.

Survivors include her husband Dennis of rural Lansing; her brother Steve (Marie) Christianson of Decorah; nephew and nieces: Ross Christianson, Kirsten (David) Burrett, and Avery (Jay Limpoco) Christianson; two great-nephews: John and Henry Burrett; three brothers-in-law: Ron (Beverly) Herman of Iowa City, and Don (Linda) Herman of Waukon and Dewey (Tina) Herman, of Decorah; her fur baby Rue; and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother-in-law Alton and Margaret Herman; and two fur babies Brandy and Brittany.
