JAMES HOLTHAUS, 76, of Decorah, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. A funeral service was at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 8, at the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah, with Rev. Donald Hertges presiding. Visitation was from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah, and also after 9:30 a.m. at the Church Monday morning. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements. James is survived by his daughters, Tracy (Dan) Frye, Decorah and Amanda (friend: Jason Norton) Powers, Swan; grandchildren: Jade and Logan Frye; Colton and Brady Powers; siblings: Joyce Pint, Minneapolis, Minn.; Elaine Bush, Junction City, Wis.; John (Mary) Holthaus, Dixon, Ill.; Bill (Janice) Holthaus, St. Lucas; Mike (Nancy) Holthaus, Phoenix, Ariz.; Peggy (Gaylen) Jennings, Wadena; Danny (Marilyn) Holthaus, Calmar; and Karen (Jeff) Ratajczyk, Stewartville, Minn.; brother-in-law, Marty Davis, Janesville, Wis.; sister-in-law, Lucy Holthaus, Coon Rapids, Minn.; along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
