Darrell was born Nov. 1, 1965, in Waukon, Iowa, to Paul and Jean (Stahl) Fahey.  He was baptized and confirmed at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon. Darrell graduated from Waukon High School in 1984, and attended Winona Technical Institute in MN, where he received his degree in Motocycle Mechanics. He worked as a mechanic for Waukon Power Sports, including Harley Davidson, Yamaha and Honda Divisions for over 25years. His employment at Harley Davidson also led to additional mechanical jobs throughout the years. Darrell worked on various farms throughout his life. He valued a great work ethic and made many lifelong friends through his employment. His many mechanical and farming skills stretched into his personal hobby of raising sheep on the Fahey family farm.

He married Ann (Urell) Marting on Oct. 7 1989; later divorced. They had two beautiful daughters, who he was proud of. Darrell enjoyed time with his daughters, riding motorcycles, sheep farming, going for drives, being a member of the Patterson Creek Social Club and watching the Green Bay Packers…win!  He could often be found at Eileen’s on Wednesday nights after stopping to see Maureen at work. Or driving down to Perry’s on a Sunday to watch the Packers and discuss the weekly plans. He could often be found on the phone talking with Nancy, Megan or Meika. He always enjoyed keeping up with their lives.

Survivors include his daughters, Megan Fahey (Ben Selvig) of Ames and Meika Fahey of Waukon; his siblings: Perry Fahey (Peggy Sivesind), Eileen (Duane “Woody”) Wood, Maureen Fahey (Andy Schlitter) all of Waukon and Nancy Fahey of Cedar Rapids; close friends who were like family: Kate Urell, Dale (Kelly) Urell, Ed Urell (Denise Beisker), Linda (Danny) Ryan and their families all of Waukon. Additional survivors include the extended Fahey and Stahl Families.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Paul and Jean Fahey, Tony (James) Urell and Tom Urell.
