‘Pulpit to Pulpit’ run-walk charities announced

The fifth annual Pulpit to Pulpit 5k/1mile fun run-walk has announced the charitable recipients of this year’s event: Friends of Decorah Public Library and Decorah Free Clinic. Since the first race in 2017, Pulpit to Pulpit has donated more than $40,000 to area nonprofits. Past non-profit recipients include ArtHaus Inc., Spectrum Network, the Boy Scouts, Decorah Community Dog Park, Helping Services for Youth & Families, the Humane Society of Northeast Iowa, Decorah Food Pantry, and Decorah Human Powered Trails.

This year’s event, sponsored by Pulpit Rock Brewing Co., The Landing Market, DECO Products, A&J Petersburg, LuLu & BB’s, Kelly Real Estate, Letterwerks, Spring Grove Soda, Inspire(d), Nagle Signs, Oneota Health Solutions, West Side Dental, and ArtHaus, Inc., will take place on Tuesday, July 4.

The family and dog-friendly race will begin with check-in at 7 a.m., and the race start time will be 8 a.m.

“We’re thrilled to be able to support the Friends of Decorah Public Library and Decorah Free Clinic through this year’s Pulpit to Pulpit race,” said race director Megan Buckingham. “It’s always been our goal to give back to the community through this event, and we’re grateful for the support of our sponsors and participants in making that happen.”
