Partner family sought by Habitat for Humanity

The next building site for Winneshiek County Habitat for Humanity (WCHFH) will be in Fort Atkinson.

The site will be prepared this fall; and building begins in the spring of 2023.

“This is our first build in Fort Atkinson, and with this build, we will have at least one WCHfH home in each town in Winneshiek County,” says Gus Johnson, executive director of WCHFH.

Partner families must have employment, demonstrate that they currently have an inadequate housing situation, and, working alongside volunteers, be able to invest at least 150 hours of labor or “sweat equity” into building their homes and the homes of others. The partner family then takes on a no-interest mortgage for the home.

For further information on partner-family eligibility requirements, visit www.winneshiekhabitat.org or contact Gus Johnson at 563-382-1802 or wchfh1@gmail.com. Winneshiek County Habitat for Humanity (WCHFH) is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.
