Voters in the city of Decorah will be heading to the polls to decide whether to authorize the city to establish a municipal electric utility, while some Winneshiek County voters will also be eligible to cast ballots that same day in a Postville Community School District special election.

The Decorah City Council is still undecided on whether to remodel or raze and rebuild the facility which serves as Decorah’s Fire and Police Station as well as its city hall. City staff have said the building was constructed almost seven decades ago and is in need of numerous costly repairs and renovations to bring the facility up to code.
